Skipton's afternoon takes a turn after early injury blow

New signing Harris Dinsdale, who scored a hat-trick of tries last week, suffered a shoulder injury in his first tackle, unsettling the team.

Silas Holden replaced him, but the re-jigged back-line struggled against Morley II's pacey players.

Morley II scored two early tries, converting one.

Skipton defended well and denied Morley II twice on the line, but a breakaway converted try put the home side 19-0 ahead.

The second quarter saw Skipton fight back with strong forward drives.

A penalty set them up with a line-out close-in, but they were denied on the line, going into the break with a 19-0 deficit.

Substitutions at half-time saw Sam McCartan and Malc Dutton replace Jarrett Lord and Ethan Brocksom in the Skipton pack.

Despite superb back-line moves, errors denied Skipton points.

Morley II extended their lead to 26-0 with a fourth converted try.

A yellow card to Morley II and successive penalties to Skipton saw Anthony Chapman score Skipton's only try, converted by Michael Tam.

Skipton defended well, but Morley II scored two more tries, ending the match with a 38-7 win.
