The New York Giants have made several roster moves ahead of Sunday's Week 9 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, including signing wide receiver Jalin Hyatt to the active roster from the practice squad.
Hyatt, a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft, returns to the 53-man roster after spending time on the practice squad this season. The Tennessee product has appeared in one game in 2026, recording no receptions or receiving yards. He previously appeared in eight games in 2025, catching five passes for 35 yards.
For his career, Hyatt has appeared in 42 games, recording 36 receptions for 470 yards without a touchdown. His best season came as a rookie in 2023, when he caught 23 passes for 373 yards.
Hyatt has had a tumultuous tenure with Big Blue, including a release earlier this season before signing back to the practice squad in September.
The Giants also announced two standard elevations from the practice squad, bringing up running back Phil Mafah and outside linebacker Dawuane Smoot for Sunday's divisional matchup.
Mafah, an undrafted rookie out of Clemson, provides additional depth in the backfield, while Smoot brings veteran experience to a defensive front dealing with multiple injuries. The 31-year-old linebacker has appeared in 127 career regular-season games, recording 167 tackles and 27 sacks.
Additionally, New York added quarterback Jake Haener to its practice squad. Haener has previously spent time on the Giants' active roster this season and provides another option at quarterback.
The Giants will need all the depth they can get as they prepare for a road matchup against the Eagles. Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field.
