Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli entertained fans with John Cena's iconic 'You Can't See Me' gesture during the first ODI between India and New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday. Kohli recreated the wrestler's trademark celebration right in front of New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips.

Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to field under overcast conditions. The visitors picked four specialist fast bowlers in Anshul Kamboj, Auqib Nabi, Gurnoor Brar and Arshdeep Singh. Mohammed Siraj missed out, while spin-bowling all-rounder Naman Dhir was preferred over Nitish Kumar Reddy.

The entertaining exchange took place in the 22nd over after New Zealand lost a wicket. Glenn Phillips walked towards the middle as John Cena's iconic WWE entrance theme played over the stadium speakers.

During a brief conversation between Phillips and Daryl Mitchell, the former India captain decided to join in on the fun. Kohli walked past Phillips and waved his hand in front of his face, recreating Cena's famous 'You Can't See Me' gesture.

Phillips had arrived at the crease following Tom Latham's wicket. The visitors had picked up four wickets for 83 runs. Arshdeep Singh and Gurnoor Brar picked up two wickets each.

Rohit Sharma's Diving Throw Runs Out Daryl Mitchell After 28-Run Knock

Rohit Sharma produced a superb piece of fielding to dismiss Mitchell on the first ball of the 22nd over. Phillips nudged the delivery towards the leg side and immediately called for a single. Mitchell hesitated before committing to the run, giving the Indian fielders a chance to complete the dismissal.

Positioned inside the inner ring, Rohit reacted quickly, dived to his right and gathered the ball cleanly. He then released an accurate throw while falling to the ground. Wicketkeeper KL Rahul collected it over the stumps and removed the bails in one motion, catching Mitchell short of his crease.

Mitchell departed for 28 off 41 deliveries, after helping New Zealand steady their innings following early wickets. He and Tim Seifert had added 33 runs for the third wicket before Gurnoor Brar dismissed the opener for 38 off 43 balls in the 15th over.

Rohit celebrated the run-out with a fist pump as Gill and Virat Kohli rushed towards him. The dismissal ended a potentially important partnership and left New Zealand at 97/5.

Virat Kohli produced another fielding highlight in the 29th over, taking a spectacular one-handed diving catch to dismiss Nathan Smith. Anshul Kamboj bowled a good-length delivery outside the off stump, and Smith edged his tentative shot towards the slip cordon.

Stationed in the slips, the 37-year-old Kohli reacted instantly and dived to his right, stretching out his right hand to grab the ball inches above the ground. He quickly got back to his feet and sprinted across the infield in celebration as his teammates gathered around him. Smith departed for one off nine deliveries, leaving New Zealand struggling at 115/7.

Kamboj earned the wicket for his disciplined bowling, while Kohli's effort further increased India's control over the innings. New Zealand, however, found some late runs through their lower order. Blair Tickner scored a quick 34 off 23 balls before Brar dismissed him in the 41st over.
