Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced their 14-member squad for the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026, with wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali appointed captain.

The PCB made the announcement on Tuesday, October 27, for the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026, which will take place in Ajman, United Arab Emirates, from November 12 to 25. Earlier, Pakistan remove Saim Ayub from ODI squad, name Sahibzada Farhan as replacement.

Muneeba Ali will lead the Pakistan team in the absence of regular captain Fatima Sana, who will be busy playing her maiden season in Australia's Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). Ayesha Zafar has been named vice-captain for the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026.

Muneeba has previously captained Pakistan in four T20I matches and one ODI. Interestingly, 12 players from Pakistan's previous squad have retained their places, while Sadaf Shamas and Waheeda Akhtar have been recalled to the side for the tournament.

The batting line-up features Eman Naseer, Eyman Fatima, Sadaf Shamas, Saira Jabeen, and Shawaal Zulfiqar. Gull Feroza is also part of the squad after being named the best wicketkeeper-batter in Pakistan's recently concluded National Women's T20 Tournament.

Nashra Sundhu to lead spin attack

Pakistan have picked four spinners for the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026, with the left-arm spinner Nashra Sundhu leading the bowling attack.

Momina Riasat, Tuba Hassan, and Umm-e-Hani will complete the spin attack for the tournament. Tasmia Rubab and Waheeda Akhtar will lead Pakistan’s pace attack.

Well, PCB has named Wahab Riaz as the team mentor, while Ayesha Ashar has been appointed team manager for the tournament.

The other coaching staff includes Abdur Rehman, Umaid Asif, Abdul Majeed, and Imran Farhat, handling spin bowling, fast bowling, fielding, and batting, respectively. Amid this, PCB’s alleged $25,000 NOC fee demand puts Pakistan players’ Nepal Premier League participation in doubt.

Pakistan placed in Group B alongside Bangladesh and Thailand

The 2026 edition of the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy will feature 10 teams competing in 30 matches, with the sides divided into two groups.

Pakistan has been placed in Group B alongside Bangladesh, defending champions Thailand, the Netherlands, and Zimbabwe. On the other hand, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, Papua New Guinea, and the United Arab Emirates have been kept in Group A.

Super Six stage to decide finalists

ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026 will begin with a single-league round-robin stage. The top three teams from each group will qualify for the Super Six stage, where every team will play three more matches.

Two best teams from the Super Six stage will then face each other in the final on Wednesday, November 25. Pakistan will aim to reach the final and aim to win the title in the UAE.

Pakistan squad will assemble in Lahore on November 6. The players will attend a pre-tournament training camp on November 7, 8, and 9 before travelling to the UAE for the competition.
