REAL MADRID’S clash with Valencia was temporarily halted following a medical emergency in the stands.
The match referee stopped the game so that medical attention could be brought to the spectator.
Players from both teams had the situation explained to them by the official in charge.
Valencia stars Pepelu and Jose Gaya made sure to help as much as they could.
The duo, alongside a pair of medical staff, ran with the stretcher to bring it across to the stand as quickly as possible.
Valencia medical staff and stadium paramedics then gave the fan proper attention.
After a delay of a few minutes, the action was able to get back underway.
Real Madrid had led 2-0 at the time of the stoppage.
Federico Valverde fired Jose Mourinho‘s side into the lead shortly before the half hour mark, with Arda Guler doubling his side’s advantage on 36 minutes.
Not long after the second half delay, Kylian Mbappe notched a third to make the points safe.
Gaya, 31, was sent off on 79 minutes and Real Madrid went on to win 3-0.
The match was always going to be played under an emotional backdrop, as both sides joined forces to pay tribute to Jesus de Miguel.
The late Tenerife striker tragically died aged 30 on Tuesday following an accidental collision during a match the previous evening.
Games across Spain this weekend have been marked by touching tributes.
Stars from Valencia and Real Madrid – including the likes of Mbappe and Jude Bellingham – wore T-shirts honouring De Miguel.
The match was also paused on nine minutes so that players, officials, staff and supporters could come together to take part in a minute’s applause.
