Thursday night turned into a long one for more than just the Baltimore Ravens. The Jacksonville Jaguars rolled to a 33-10 win at M&T Bank Stadium, holding undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano to 10-of-18 passing for 60 yards with two interceptions in his first NFL start.

But as the game dragged on, fans took aim at Prime Video analyst Kirk Herbstreit for several reasons. One fan even wanted Herbstreit off the broadcast altogether, while several others took issue with his “fake interest” in a game that was lopsided from the jump.

NFL Fans Call Out Kirk Herbstreit’s “Irritating” Commentary on TNF

Herbstreit called the game as the analyst beside Al Michaels. The Ravens came in on a three-game losing streak and turned to Fagnano after losing Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley to injuries in Buffalo.

As the night wore on, one fan minced no words about the quality of the broadcast. “Get Herbstreit off my TV,” the viewer wrote, referring to Herbstreit’s comments on Fagnano’s wife, Lydia, when he said, “His wife may have a postgame breakdown in the kitchen.”

Earlier, Herbstreit also noted that Lydia had been helping Joe prepare by running walkthroughs in their living room and reading plays to him.

Meanwhile, another complaint came down to the basics of commentary. “Kirk Herbstreit is getting paid $20 million a year to call football games, but he can’t pronounce the word ‘Jaguars’ correctly. So irritating,” a fan wrote.

The criticism went beyond delivery to the booth pairing itself. “I’ll state once again: Kirk Herbstreit is stealing money from Amazon; he adds nothing to the TNF NFL broadcast,” a fan wrote.

How Herbstreit came across beside Michaels caught another fan’s eye as well: “Kirk Herbstreit looks like he’s trying so hard to fake interest in whatever Al Michaels is talking about right now.”

Michaels did not escape criticism entirely, though, as another fan went after both men and the state of the game: “I will be staying up until 11:30 ET to hate watch the Ravens in a blowout, with Al Michaels talking about who knows what and Kirk Herbstreit providing derisive, uninformed, passive-aggressive comments about analytics.”

Coming back to the game, after Jake Moody’s 53-yard field goal pulled the Ravens within 7-3 in the first quarter, the Jaguars scored the next 26 points, 12 of them on Cam Little field goals, and all three of Baltimore’s turnovers came after halftime.

Fagnano finished with a 22.7 passer rating as Baltimore managed 55 net passing yards, while Trevor Lawrence threw for 242 yards and a touchdown without an interception. The Ravens’ lone touchdown came on Justice Hill’s 65-yard run with Baltimore already trailing 33-3.
