Former Super League try-scoring ace pens new Championship deal whilst ex-Leeds youngster also extends contract

Former Super League stalwart Greg Eden has agreed to continue his playing career into 2027, signing a new one-year contract.

Eden, who enjoyed spells in the top flight with Hull KR, Huddersfield, Salford, Bradford, but most notably Castleford, has put pen to paper to remain at Championship side Sheffield Eagles, following a mid-season move in 2026.

The 138-time Super League try-scorer becomes the 19th player contracted to Sheffield next season, with their full roster below:

Sheffield Eagles’ contracted players for 2027: Matty Marsh, Greg Eden, Joe Brown, Billy Walkey, Kieran Gill, Josh Hodson, Will Oakes, Kai Morgan, Jordan Lilley, Jordan Abdull, Conor Fitzsimmons, Martyn Reilly, George Griffin, Masi Matongo, Blake Broadbent, Lewis Peachey, Corey Johnson, Harry Bowes, Joel Farrell
