Although the Golden State Warriors fell apart down the stretch to drop a stunning loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Yaxel Lendeborg's performance was a positive on Friday night at Chase Center. For the first time in his young career, the No. 11 overall pick from the 2026 NBA draft, registered his first NBA double-double.
Lendeborg tallied an impressive stat line, recording 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field to go along with 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals in 37 minutes against the Grizzlies. Lendeborg led the Warriors in rebounding on Friday night. Lendeborg has now scored in double-figures in his first two NBA games.
Last season at Michigan, Lendeborg recorded seven double-doubles. In two seasons at UAB, Lendeborg tallied 45 double doubles.
While Lendeborg looked good, his fellow 2026 first round pick got the last laugh. Cameron Boozer helped lead the Grizzlies to a comeback 111-108 win over the Warriors with 25 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field with 13 rebounds, six assist and two steals in 37 minutes.
Lendeborg will be back on the floor on Saturday night when the Warriors travel to Phoenix for the second leg of a back-to-back against the Suns.
