Michael Stewart was absolutely having none of Djeidi Gassama after what he saw him do at Hampden as Rangers beat Aberdeen.
Gassama came on in the second period of the semi-final clash that Rangers ended up winning 1-0, but it was not a cameo worth writing home about.
At the end of the day, getting the win is what would have mattered to Derek McInnes as he’s guided the Light Blues to a final.

Stewart slammed Gassama, as he believed he simulated in order to win a penalty on the edge of the penalty area. The former Hibs man believes that the Mauritania international has the habit of sending himself to the ground and that his reputation precedes him.
Instead of stating that it was not a foul, Stewart insisted that it was a dive, while it was a decision that could have gone either way. The on-field referee did not blow his whistle, but also did not feel that it was simulation and thus decided not to card the Gers winger.
Speaking live on Premier Sports, he said: “Is it a foul? No. That’s what he does. His reputation goes before him. He falls to the ground.”
Apart from Stewart, there seems to be no other commentator who seems to find Gassama a diver. Back in December last year, the winger had another incident against Dundee United, with the game ending 2-2.
Even in that one, Stewart said the same thing and stated that it was not the first time he saw the Mauritanian doing it. However, no other pundit has even mentioned it. This shows that the Premier Sports pundit clearly has an agenda against the left winger.
Back in December, he said: “There aren’t too many protestations from Gassama; it’s 100 per cent the right decision.
“Gassama has done it before this season; he will go down a little bit easy, and I am just wondering if that type of reputation starts to play on the referee’s mind a little because he was very quick, Dickinson.”
