The Matthias Jaissle Crystal Palace press conference has taken place on Friday.
This is ahead of the Newcastle United match on Sunday.
A 2pm kick-off at Selhurst Park.
Newcastle United looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats.
The Head Coach speaking to the media.
Matthias Jaissle on the pressure on managing Newcastle United:
“I have always said it is a privilege to be the coach of Newcastle United. It is not a great pressure, I would use another word. It is a great responsibility.
“There is a setback at the moment and we need to overcome it. The disappointment of the fans is part of the game. They are passionate, especially our supporters who are great.”
Matthias Jaissle on a full week of training:
“It was a week where we have been fully committed but now it is time to focus on the next match. To show a performance to get a great result. It is the time to make it count on a matchday.”
Matthias Jaissle on Crystal Palace:
“They have had a heavy defeat [5-0 at Brighton] and then drew [2-2 at Besiktas] yesterday; they will want a reaction. We can only focus on ourselves, what we can control. We are fully focused on Crystal Palace, to deliver the match plan.”
Matthias Jaissle on Sean Steur:
“We are all sure, the whole club, the coaching staff and the players what great potential Sean has. He has shown that already and he showed, like many other lads, there are ups and downs and this is normal.
“Now it is time he is getting that confidence, that maturity throughout training sessions, training weeks and we see it as a long-term project.
“Nico (González) is doing good in that position but that is the competition. We are happy with his progress.”
Matthias Jaissle on Anthony Elanga and Jacob Ramsey’s progress:
“Anthony has trained this week and worked really hard. He won’t be able to play 90 minutes, but he is hopefully able to join the squad.
I am happy Jacob is back on the pitch. We need to take it step-by-step with him, we don’t want to take too many risks. I am pleased that slowly we are getting the players back.”
