A set of India National Cricket Team players has been playing in the Hong Kong International Sixes. They played Pakistan in their first match and lost the match by 4 wickets. After the loss, their qualification for the next round took a big blow, with only one team qualifying for the next round; thus, the fans are furious about it.

The Hong Kong Sixes 2026 international six-a-side cricket tournament takes place from October 30 to November 1, 2026, at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok (and Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground). The ICC has granted permission for it. It started back in 1992. It is a short-format match designed to deliver fast-paced, high-scoring entertainment for fans.

Shashank Singh plays a fiery innings against Pakistan

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. The Men in Blue did not have a great start to the match as they lost an early wicket in the form of Rahul Tripathi, who went back to the pavilion for just 9 runs. Then it was Nitish Rana who was retired out after he failed to up the run rate and scored 19 runs off 14 deliveries.

Shashank Singh played a superb knock of 40 off 11 balls, smashing two fours and five sixes in the innings, and none of the middle-order batters could get runs, as Krunal Pandya and Rahul Tewatia both were back for golden ducks. T Natarajan scored 12 off 6 balls as India posted 88 runs in their 6 overs.

Pakistan openers surprise India to win the game

While chasing, Khawaja Nafay and skipper Abbas Afridi were off to a blistering start as they scored 59 runs inside the first two overs, smashing the Indian bowlers all around the park. Abbas Afridi scored 35 off 8 deliveries, smashing five sixes and one four. Nafay scored 41 off 12 balls with the same number of sixes and two fours.

Abdul Samad and Irfan Khan small contributions helped the Pakistan side beat the India side with ease. They chased down the target in 3.5 overs. They have now upped the run rate despite the loss against UAE. They are at the top of the table and are favourites to qualify for the next round.

The Men in Blue have a match in hand against UAE and will look to win the game by a huge margin in order to surpass Pakistan’s run rate and qualify for the semi-final of the tournament; a loss for the side would rule them out.
