Two Premier League aces stopped to assist police after one of their team-mates was spotted carrying a bow and arrow at a Northumberland beauty spot. Amar Dedic, 24, was reported to police after a walker spotted him and friend carrying the weapon.
According to the Daily Mail, six police cars were dispatched to the area, with cops stopping the pair around seven miles from the Darras Hall estate on the outskirts of the city.
However, by chance, Dedic's team-mate Mark Gillespie and former defender Paul Dummett were in the area and stopped to aid police. Dedic and his friend were questioned by police, but it was concluded they were no threat to the public.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international was allowed to leave, but had his bow and arrow confiscated. Northumbria Police confirmed that enquiries are still ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 1.55pm on Wednesday, we received a report of two men carrying a bow and arrows while walking along a track by the reservoir on Military Road in the Harlow Hill area.
“Officers attended and subsequently stopped a vehicle in the Darras Hall area and seized a bow and arrows. At this stage, it is understood they were for recreational use and there was no threat to the public. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Hunting with a bow and arrow remains illegal in Britain. And the Mail's report adds he will face no disciplinary action from Newcastle.
Dedic moved to Newcastle this summer, to the tune of £29.5million from Benfica, to reunite with former boss Matthias Jaissle. Dedic had played under Jaissle at both FC Liefering and RB Salzburg.
He has made seven appearances in the Premier League this season, chipping with two assists, as the Magpies form has started to nose dive under their new manager.
