The Reds were nowhere near good enough in the defeat at Sheffield United when even manager Phil Parkinson questioned his players’ effort and desire.
They deserved the criticism that came their way but they also deserve all the plaudits following the brilliant 2-0 win against Championship leaders Middlesbrough.
Everything you want to see from a Wrexham team was on display and with the hard work came quality, with the Reds taking two chances to claim a much-needed victory.
After beating the table-toppers, Parkinson’s men will now aim to claim the scalp of in-form Wolves who head to The Racecourse tomorrow sitting second in the table.
Wolves are eyeing up an immediate return to the Premier League which is also Wrexham’s ultimate goal.
It may take time but if the Reds keep performing like they did against Boro, they will continue climbing the table and another promotion challenge could materialise this season.
