Alajbegović’s first Serie A goal and Boga sink ten-man Napoli on Juventus’s birthday
Turin at night with the Mole Antonelliana

Juventus beat Napoli 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium, with both goals arriving after a goalless first half. Luciano Spalletti's side now sit seventh, with Napoli eighth, ahead of a Europa League trip to AZ Alkmaar.

A first Serie A goal from a Bosnian teenager and a late curler from a substitute gave Juventus victory over Napoli on Sunday 1 November 2026. The game at the Allianz Stadium was goalless at half-time. It finished 2-0.

The result followed a difficult run. Juventus had won just one of their previous four Serie A games. Their last outing ended in a 0-2 defeat against Genoa. Some home fans jeered the team early in the second half.

Substitutes turned a balanced game Juventus’s way

Napoli’s own match report described the first hour as balanced, with good chances for both teams, before Juventus took control. Guglielmo Vicario made an excellent early save to keep out a diving header from Lorenzo Lucca. Juan Cabal hit the post before the half-hour mark.

Spalletti changed the game from the bench. Federico Gatti replaced Weston McKennie at the break. Edon Zhegrova came on for Randal Kolo Muani on 59 minutes. The substitute skipped past Rrahmani and laid the ball off to Alajbegović. Alajbegović cut inside and fired a left-footed shot into the far corner beyond Alex Meret.

Napoli were then reduced to ten men. Kelly and Jérémie Boga had replaced Jhon Lucumí and Alajbegović on 72 minutes. Andrea Cambiaso came on for Cabal on 83. He set up Boga, who sealed the win with a right-footed curler three minutes from time.

Sky Sport Italia’s ratings made Alajbegović man of the match and called the win important for keeping Juventus in the race for the European places. Across the full 90 minutes, the match statistics favoured the home side. Juventus had 18 shots to Napoli’s 8, with 4 on target against 1. They also won 13 corners to 4. Possession was almost level, at 49% to 51%.

Juventus climb above Napoli before Thursday’s trip to Alkmaar

After ten games, Spalletti’s side have five wins, two draws and three defeats. Lazio lead the table on 28 points after nine wins and a draw.

It was a second straight league win over Napoli for Juventus, who beat them 3-0 on 25 January 2026. Napoli’s defeat ended a run that included a 4-1 win over Monza. They now face FC Porto away in the Champions League on Wednesday 4 November.

Juventus travel to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League League Phase on Thursday 5 November, with kick-off at 21:00 CET.
