There are some fantastic records such as Jimmy McGrory’s eight goals in one game against Dunfermline, but only two records are officially recognised by the Guinness World Records.

Which former Celtic player would you add to the current team, and why? 🤔
First of all is an obvious one to know, but no club has won more Scottish top flight titles than Celtic.
Last season’s extraordinary title win under Martin O’Neill saw them crowned champions of Scotland for the 56th time, which is an outright record.
That record could be extended even further this season and, at the time of writing, the Bhoys are top of the Scottish Premiership.
Hopefully it won’t require some late goals like Callum Osmand’s in May 2026, but extending that record would be great fun.
Another Guinness World Record that Celtic can be proud of holding is the fastest goal in women’s professional football.
Maria McAneny was awarded the sensational achievement in December 2025 when she scored after 4.10 seconds. Her goal was fitting for a record too as McAneny scored from the halfway line against Hibernian in a 2-1 win.
The midfielder was presented with the award at the Barrowfield training ground in March 2026.
