Mikel Arteta's comments are going viral following his Arsenal side's 2-0 win against Everton.

The Gunners secured all three points thanks to goals from both central defenders, Ezri Konsa, who scored the side's first corner of their season, and Gabriel.

Arteta, like many other managers, has always been critical of refereeing in the Premier League, and today was no different, as he was once again booked in the 63rd minute of the game.

Following the booking, Arteta, considered one of the best managers in the world right now, was asked to react to the moment after the game, and he didn't hold back.

The caution came 63 minutes into the game, when Arteta had left his designated technical area, an offence he has been found guilty of on multiple previous occasions. Referee Tony Harrington didn't hesitate to show a yellow to the Spanish manager, who shook his head whilst sitting down in the dugout.

All 10 found — excellent!

It is hardly the first time Arteta's touchline antics have drawn attention. He has been booked for similar offences in the past, and the Premier League has long asked for managers to remain within their technical areas for the duration of matches. Officials have been told to enforce the rule, and Arteta, whose animated style on the touchline is renowned across football, has regularly found himself on the wrong side of it.

Speaking in his press conference after the match, Arteta was asked directly about the yellow card he received. He said:

"I do need to be careful. I'm going to put sensors there (the touchline). There are managers that have the record in the league: 36 times in 10 minutes, leave the touchline, no yellows. So I'm clipping all of that. So I have a massive storage of images now."

He continued: "So if somebody comes to say, I'm not in the record yet. Somebody else has the record. So let's see."

Following the comments from the Arsenal boss, fans took to Reddit to give their reaction.

One fan said: "He's such a little cry baby," whilst another added, "He's a very good manager but he is such an odd bloke."

Others joked that Arteta's press conference antics were very similar to a former Premier League manager, saying "Mourinho walked so that Arteta could fly." Another said: "He's such a weirdo."

It's fair to say that some fans saw the comical side of Arteta's comments, but overall it was seen as a strange segment from the boss.
