Arsenal Suffer Major Blow as 2027 Signing Faces Three Months Out With Ankle Injury

According to a report published by the London Evening Standard on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Bartishvili is expected to be sidelined for two to three months. The injury comes ahead of his planned move to north London next summer.

His current club, Iberia 1999, confirmed the injury after the teenager sustained the problem while in Georgia. The initial reports were shared by Geo Team before being highlighted by journalist Simon Collings. Bartishvili is currently on loan at Iberia 1999 from Kolkheti 1913, where he has been gaining valuable experience in senior football.

Arsenal reached a pre-contract agreement with the promising attacker earlier this year. The deal is expected to take effect in July 2027, when he turns 18 and becomes eligible to complete his move to the Premier League club.

Bartishvili is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or winger and has impressed with his contributions in front of goal, including goals and assists. He has also progressed through Georgia's youth national teams, earning recognition at under-21 level.

The latest injury could keep him out of action for the remainder of the calendar year, disrupting his efforts to build on his recent performances and gain more senior experience before the winter break. However, the exact duration of his absence will depend on how well he responds to treatment and rehabilitation.

Arsenal are expected to manage his development carefully following his arrival in north London. The teenager will likely begin with the club's academy and under-21 sides as he adapts to English football and gradually works towards senior-team involvement.

Despite the setback, there is currently no indication that the injury has affected Arsenal's agreement with the player or the proposed timing of his transfer.

With Bartishvili remaining in Georgia until 2027, his rehabilitation is expected to be handled by his current clubs. Arsenal will continue monitoring his recovery before welcoming him to England.

A successful rehabilitation programme will be crucial in helping the youngster regain full fitness and resume his development ahead of the next chapter of his career at Arsenal.
