Barcelona attacking stars Raphinha and Lamine Yamal have emerged as one of the most effective forward partnerships in European football, with their outstanding goal contributions playing a major role in the club’s impressive attacking performances this season.
According to a report by Barca Universal on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the pair continued their excellent form during Barcelona’s 3-0 Champions League victory over Aston Villa on Tuesday night. Raphinha scored twice, while Yamal also registered his name on the scoresheet as Hansi Flick’s team returned to winning ways following successive defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
Their contributions against Aston Villa once again demonstrated the understanding they have developed and the importance of their individual qualities to Barcelona’s attacking structure.
Statistics published by Barca Universal indicate that the two forwards have combined for 32 goals and 14 assists in La Liga and the Champions League. Their total of 46 direct goal contributions places them ahead of several attacking partnerships at Europe's leading clubs.
The figures also reveal how heavily Barcelona have depended on their performances. Raphinha and Yamal have been directly involved in 42 of the club’s 60 goals this season, meaning they account for 70 per cent of the team's total scoring output.
Raphinha has been particularly impressive, registering 19 goals in 13 appearances across all competitions. The Brazilian enjoyed an exceptional beginning to the La Liga campaign, scoring 12 times during his first seven matchdays. That achievement surpassed Lionel Messi’s previous Barcelona record of 11 goals across the opening seven league games of the 2017/18 season.
His influence extends beyond finishing opportunities. The winger's energy, intelligent movement, aggressive pressing and ability to find the net have made him an important component of Flick’s tactical approach. His willingness to contribute defensively also adds another dimension to his value within the team.
Yamal has been equally influential, recording 13 goals and 11 assists. The teenager continues to demonstrate his ability to influence matches through both scoring and creating opportunities for teammates.
His goal against Aston Villa also took his Champions League tally to 14, making him the competition's highest-scoring teenager. He moved beyond Kylian Mbappé's previous record of 13 goals before turning 20, further strengthening his growing reputation in European football.
The relationship between the two attackers has become increasingly productive. Yamal regularly uses his creativity to create openings for Raphinha, while the Brazilian also contributes to opportunities for his younger teammate. Their ability to combine effectively makes Barcelona more dangerous in the final third.
Their different playing styles provide Flick with a valuable attacking combination. Raphinha brings speed, direct movement, relentless energy and pressing intensity, whereas Yamal relies on close control, dribbling and creativity to beat opponents in individual situations.
The pair's combined output also places them ahead of Bayern Munich's attacking partnership of Harry Kane and Michael Olise, who have recorded 38 direct goal contributions.
With both forwards maintaining impressive scoring and creative form, Barcelona will be eager to preserve their understanding throughout the campaign. Their continued influence could prove crucial as Flick's side pursues success in both La Liga and the Champions League.
