Rodrygo Sends Message After Taking Another Step Towards Real Madrid Return

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has moved closer to a return after progressing to individual ball work during his recovery from a serious knee injury.

According to a report by Madrid Universal on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the Brazilian winger is continuing his rehabilitation at the club’s training ground, with a possible return to competitive action in December.

Rodrygo has been out since March after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament ACL tear and medial meniscus damage in his right knee during a match against Getafe. He underwent surgery on March 10, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

The injury also ended his hopes of representing Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, dealing a major blow to his international ambitions.

However, his recovery has progressed steadily in recent months. After returning to jogging in September, the 25 year old has now started individual ball work on the training pitch.

Although he has yet to resume full team training, the latest development offers encouragement as he works towards regaining full fitness.

Rodrygo has also reportedly followed a specialised body-recomposition programme during his rehabilitation to improve his physical condition before returning to action.

Sharing pictures of himself training at Valdebebas on social media, the forward expressed his gratitude for the progress he has made.

“Grateful for days like these,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, questions remain over Rodrygo’s place in Real Madrid’s attacking line once he returns. Yan Diomande has reportedly impressed, while Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior remain important figures in the team’s attack.

Their presence could make it difficult for Rodrygo to secure a regular starting position, especially as he works to regain his previous form and fitness.

Despite the competition for places, Real Madrid are reportedly unwilling to consider loan offers for the Brazilian during the January transfer window. The club have informed his representatives that they do not intend to approve a temporary departure.

This suggests that Real Madrid still consider Rodrygo part of their long-term plans. For now, however, his main focus will be completing his rehabilitation and returning to full fitness without suffering another setback.
