Chelsea could have an opportunity to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Senny Mayulu if the French champions fail to guarantee him regular first-team football, despite his recent improvement in performance.
According to a report by FootballTransfers on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the 20-year-old has bounced back from a disappointing start to the season and is gradually proving that he has the quality to compete at the highest level of European football.
Uncertainty surrounding Mayulu’s future at the Parc des Princes emerged earlier this year when he entered the final year of his contract. Negotiations over an extension reportedly became difficult following disagreements between PSG and his representatives. The French club allegedly believed the midfielder was demanding too much, while his representatives accused the club of “throwing him under the bus.”
The disagreement was eventually resolved, with Mayulu signing a new contract that will keep him at PSG until 2031. However, the agreement did not immediately improve his situation regarding playing time. He struggled to secure regular appearances at the beginning of the 2026/27 campaign and had accumulated only 67 minutes by the middle of October, raising doubts about his position in Luis Enrique’s plans.
Chelsea subsequently emerged as a potential destination for the young midfielder. According to reports, analytics company SciSports identified Stamford Bridge as an ideal environment for his development, particularly if he were deployed in central midfield. The Blues could also view him as a possible long-term replacement for Enzo Fernandez, whose future at the club has attracted speculation.
However, Mayulu’s situation at PSG has improved considerably following a series of impressive displays. He found the net against Lyon on October 26 before scoring and providing an assist during his full 90-minute appearance against Le Havre four days later.
He maintained that momentum in Tuesday’s Champions League encounter against Villarreal, scoring during PSG’s dominant first half. French publication L’Équipe described his performance as a “complete performance,” highlighting the increasing influence he is having within the team.
Meanwhile, Luis Enrique has started experimenting with Mayulu in more advanced positions. Rather than restricting him to midfield duties, the PSG manager has recently deployed him as a false nine.
Mayulu’s Estimated Transfer Value currently stands at €48.3 million, while FootballTransfers places his potential market valuation between €43.5 million and €53.1 million.
His recent performances could make a January departure less likely, although Chelsea are expected to continue monitoring his progress as they assess potential midfield reinforcements.
The Premier League club could reconsider their interest if his playing opportunities decrease again at PSG, particularly if the French giants are unable to provide the consistent first-team football he desires.
