According to a report by the Evening Standard on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could make at least one change to his starting lineup for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Everton following Bukayo Saka’s injury.
Saka is a major doubt for the encounter after suffering a quadriceps problem during Arsenal’s 2-2 Champions League draw against Bayern Munich. The winger was forced off after just 10 minutes, with Eberechi Eze coming on as his replacement.
With Saka potentially unavailable, Noni Madueke is expected to move to the right wing, where he finished the match against Bayern Munich. Eze could retain his place on the opposite flank after scoring Arsenal’s opening goal in Germany.
Arsenal’s defensive selection could also depend on the fitness of Piero Hincapie. The Ecuadorian defender has missed the club’s recent matches due to an ankle problem but has returned to individual training and could be available if he completes a full training session before the Everton game.
In midfield, Martin Zubimendi is available again after recovering from a minor injury, while Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard remain key options for Arteta.
The Arsenal manager must also decide whether to keep Kai Havertz in the starting lineup or bring Viktor Gyokeres back into the team to lead the attack.
Based on the latest team news and Saka’s injury concerns, Arsenal could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Everton.
Arsenal possible starting XI: Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Guimaraes, Rice; Madueke, Odegaard, Eze; Havertz.
The main change from Arsenal’s Champions League lineup would be Madueke replacing Saka on the right wing. Eze is expected to continue on the left, while Havertz could retain his position as the central striker.
