WSL Table After Arsenal Won 2-1

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Arsenal Women claimed an important 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur Women in the Women's Super League.

Arsenal showed great determination to recover after falling behind in the 13th minute. Tottenham took the lead through Cathinka Tandberg, who scored following a corner kick. The home side started confidently and looked ready to challenge their London rivals, but Arsenal responded quickly and refused to let the early goal affect their performance.

The Gunners equalised in the 17th minute when Georgia Stanway found the net, with Alessia Russo providing the assist. The goal gave Arsenal fresh confidence, and both teams continued to fight for control of the match. However, neither side managed to score again before half-time.

The second half remained closely contested, with both teams searching for a goal that could decide the derby. Arsenal eventually took the lead in the 56th minute when Russo converted a penalty to make it 2-1.

Tottenham attempted to get back into the game by making several substitutions, hoping to find an equaliser. Arsenal also introduced fresh players as they worked to protect their advantage. Despite late pressure from the home side, the Gunners remained organised and held on to secure all three points.

The victory represents an important boost for Arsenal after their difficult start to the league campaign. Meanwhile, Tottenham will be disappointed after losing despite taking an early lead in front of their home supporters.

Following the result, Arsenal Women moved up to sixth place in the Women's Super League table with nine points. Tottenham Hotspur Women remain fourth with 10 points.

The result gives Arsenal renewed confidence as they look to improve their position in the league, while Tottenham will aim to respond positively in their next fixture.
