According to a report by Barca Universal on Friday, October 30, 2026, Barcelona youngster Guillem Victor could be given an opportunity to impress against Deportivo Alaves this weekend as Hansi Flick considers promoting the La Masia defender amid the club's growing injury problems.

The German manager is reportedly impressed by the 19-year-old and is prepared to trust him with an important role at right-back.

Barcelona are hoping to return to winning ways when they host Alaves at Camp Nou. However, several defensive injuries could force Flick to consider alternative options.

With Xavi Espart expected to be out for seven weeks, Eric Garcia preparing for the trip to Atletico Madrid and Jules Kounde still not fully fit, Victor has emerged as a possible option to strengthen the defence.

According to Diario SPORT, the young defender is highly rated within the club because of the potential he has shown in the academy. He is also the younger brother of former Barcelona forward Pau Victor.

Despite his age, Guillem Victor has already established himself as a promising full-back with the qualities needed to eventually earn a place in the senior team.

His mentality is another aspect that has impressed those around him. He is said to possess confidence, determination and a strong personality. Rather than becoming frustrated when opportunities are limited, he remains focused on improving and overcoming challenges.

His versatility is also expected to work in his favour as Flick considers his options. Victor started his development as a defensive midfielder before making the transition to full-back.

During one season with Juvenil B, he played in six different positions, highlighting his tactical awareness and ability to adapt to different roles.

The youngster is part of Barcelona's talented 2007 generation, which also includes Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Marc Bernal and Xavi Espart.

He has also become a regular starter for Juliano Belletti's reserve team, mainly operating at right-back.
