According to a report by Barca Universal on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick could achieve two historic milestones if his side defeat Real Madrid in Sunday's El Clasico.
The German coach is one victory away from recording his 100th win in charge of the Catalan club. A victory would also allow Barcelona to break the record for the best start to a La Liga season.
The match is crucial for both sides as they compete for domestic supremacy. Barcelona will be looking to bounce back from their Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, while Real Madrid head into the encounter after securing a victory over RB Leipzig.
Flick has recorded 99 wins, 10 draws and 20 defeats in his first 129 matches as Barcelona manager. Since taking charge in 2024, he has achieved a winning percentage of 76.74%, putting him ahead of Luis Enrique, who finished his Barcelona tenure with a 76.24% win rate.
Other notable managers, including Tito Vilanova, Pep Guardiola and Helenio Herrera, also recorded lower winning percentages. Under Flick, Barcelona have scored 368 goals in their first 129 matches, averaging 2.85 goals per game. Their attacking form has been particularly impressive this season, with 50 goals scored in 12 matches.
Flick has enjoyed considerable success since replacing Xavi Hernandez. In his first season, he guided Barcelona to a domestic treble, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. The club subsequently secured another league title and the Spanish Super Cup.
The second milestone within reach concerns Barcelona's start to the league campaign. The Catalan side have matched Real Madrid's record of winning their first nine La Liga matches, a feat achieved by the Madrid club during the 1968-69 season.
Barcelona can now surpass that record by winning their tenth consecutive league fixture. Doing so would establish a new benchmark in the competition and give Flick another historic achievement.
Although their 4-2 defeat to PSG ended an 11-match winning streak across domestic and European competitions, Barcelona still have an opportunity to make history. Sunday's El Clasico could allow Flick to reach both milestones against their fiercest rivals.
