According to a report by Barca Universal on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Karim Adeyemi is reportedly in contention to start when Barcelona host Alaves at Spotify Camp Nou, with manager Hansi Flick considering changes to his attacking lineup following consecutive defeats against Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid.
The German winger has reportedly strengthened his chances of earning a starting position through his performances whenever he has been given opportunities this season. Despite spending much of the campaign on the bench, Adeyemi has made a significant contribution to Barcelona's attacking efforts.
Flick is understood to be assessing different attacking options as Barcelona prepare for a demanding schedule. The match against Alaves will be followed by a Champions League meeting with Aston Villa on November 3 before the Catalans travel to face Atletico Madrid on November 8.
The Barcelona manager wants his team to rediscover the attacking quality they demonstrated earlier in the campaign, and Adeyemi could provide an important alternative because of his pace, movement and ability to take on defenders.
The 24 year old has featured in all 13 matches played by Barcelona this season, accumulating approximately 452 minutes across competitions. However, only four of those appearances have come as a starter.
Despite his limited playing time, the winger has recorded impressive numbers, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His seven direct goal contributions mean he has averaged one contribution approximately every 65 minutes.
According to the report, Adeyemi ranks third among Barcelona players for minutes per goal contribution. Only Lamine Yamal and Raphinha have produced better figures.
Yamal has registered 10 goals and 10 assists, averaging one direct contribution every 55 minutes. Raphinha, meanwhile, has scored 15 goals and provided three assists, recording a contribution approximately every 44 minutes.
Adeyemi's statistics highlight his effectiveness despite receiving fewer opportunities than some of his teammates.
His potential inclusion against Alaves could give Barcelona additional attacking energy as Flick looks to improve the team's performances and manage his squad during a crucial period involving three important fixtures in just eight days.
