Barcelona Reportedly File Formal Complaint Against PSG Over Controversial Anti Barça Tifos

According to a report by Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Barcelona have reportedly filed a formal complaint against Paris Saint-Germain over controversial tifos displayed inside the stadium, featuring hostile messages directed at the Catalan club.

The banners allegedly included phrases such as “Massacre in the Parisian way” and “F*ck Barça!” The displays reportedly appeared in different sections of the stadium, drawing attention because of their provocative language and the intense rivalry between the two European clubs.

The incident has renewed debate about the limits of football fan culture, particularly when supporters use large displays to insult opposing teams. Although tifos are often used to create an exciting atmosphere during major matches, some have attracted criticism because of their offensive messages and aggressive imagery.

Barcelona and PSG have developed a fierce rivalry over the years, with their meetings regularly attracting attention from football fans worldwide. Their history includes dramatic Champions League encounters, memorable comebacks and major player transfers that have added to the tension between both sides.

One of their most famous meetings came in the 2016–17 UEFA Champions League. Barcelona overturned a four goal first leg deficit by defeating PSG 6-1 in the return leg, completing one of the most remarkable comebacks in the competition's history.

The rivalry continued to attract attention following Neymar's record breaking transfer from Barcelona to PSG in 2017. His departure added another dimension to the relationship between the clubs and their supporters.

The reported complaint raises questions about whether football authorities should intervene when stadium displays go beyond passionate support and become offensive. Any disciplinary action would depend on the applicable competition rules and the findings of an official investigation.

However, the claim that Barcelona have formally submitted a complaint has not been independently confirmed, and no official disciplinary decision has been established.

For now, the reported incident has added another point of tension to the rivalry between Barcelona and PSG, with further clarification needed to determine whether the matter will lead to formal action.
