Manchester United recruitment coach Connor Tagoe has confirmed his departure from Old Trafford after six years with the Premier League club, bringing his professional association with the organisation to an end. In a farewell message shared on LinkedIn, Tagoe reflected on his experience, thanked those he worked with and expressed optimism about the next stage of his career. The development was reported by Manchester Evening News on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
Tagoe used his announcement to acknowledge the opportunities he received during his time at United, describing the experience positively and expressing appreciation for the colleagues who contributed to his journey. He said his six-year spell had concluded and described working alongside talented individuals as an important part of his experience.
In his message, Tagoe thanked Manchester United for the period he spent at the club, adding that he was grateful for the moments shared with colleagues. He also indicated that he was ready to move forward professionally, although he did not disclose details about his next destination or future plans.
Tagoe joined United in September 2020, undertaking recruitment and coaching responsibilities while continuing to manage his football development ventures. His departure therefore marks the end of six years working within the club's structure.
Beyond his role at Old Trafford, Tagoe established Vision Football Development Academy and has been involved in the development of several footballers. His professional experience includes working with Chelsea forward Cole Palmer and former Nigeria international Victor Moses, according to the report.
Although Tagoe's LinkedIn employment information reportedly continues to identify Manchester United as his current workplace, his farewell announcement indicates that his time at the club has ended.
His exit comes during a challenging period for United, with head coach Michael Carrick under increasing scrutiny following an inconsistent start to the campaign. Carrick initially made progress after replacing Ruben Amorim in January, guiding the team from seventh to third in the Premier League and helping secure Champions League qualification.
However, United have reportedly managed only two victories in their opening 12 matches this season. Defeats against Como and Bournemouth have intensified criticism of the team's performances.
Despite speculation about Carrick's future, reports suggest United are not preparing to dismiss him immediately and may give him another opportunity against Chelsea. Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann have reportedly emerged as possible alternatives. However, there is no established evidence linking Tagoe's departure to the uncertainty surrounding Carrick's position.
