According to a report by Manchester Evening News on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Manchester United recruitment coach Connor Tagoe has confirmed his departure from the club after six years at Old Trafford, announcing the end of his tenure in an emotional message.
Tagoe shared the news on LinkedIn, where he reflected on his time with the Premier League giants, thanked the colleagues he worked with, and expressed excitement about the next stage of his career.
“Big thanks to Manchester United for the last 6 years. My time has come to an end, it’s been a top experience,” Tagoe wrote, describing his time at the club as a memorable experience.
He added: “Shared with some top people, and I’m grateful for every moment. Looking forward to the next part of my journey.” His message confirmed that his association with Manchester United had come to an end.
Tagoe joined United in September 2020, combining recruitment and coaching duties with the management of his football development businesses. His departure therefore marks the conclusion of six years of involvement in the club’s football operations.
He is also the founder of Vision Football Development Academy and has worked with several notable players, including Chelsea forward Cole Palmer and former Nigeria international Victor Moses. These experiences have contributed to his background in football coaching and player development.
Although Tagoe’s LinkedIn employment details reportedly continue to identify Manchester United as his current employer, his farewell message suggests that he has officially left the club.
His departure comes at a challenging time for United, with head coach Michael Carrick under increasing pressure following the team’s disappointing performances this season and a series of damaging results.
Carrick enjoyed a successful spell after replacing Ruben Amorim in January, helping United climb from seventh to third place in the Premier League and secure qualification for the Champions League.
However, the team has struggled to maintain that progress during the current campaign. United have managed only two victories in their first 12 matches, with defeats against Como and Bournemouth adding to the criticism surrounding their performances.
Despite the growing speculation about Carrick’s future, Manchester United have reportedly decided not to dismiss him immediately, giving the manager another opportunity to improve results when the team faces Chelsea in its next fixture.
At the same time, reports suggest that club officials have begun considering possible alternatives, with Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann mentioned as potential candidates for the managerial position.
Nevertheless, there is currently no evidence indicating that Tagoe’s departure is connected to the uncertainty surrounding Carrick’s future at Old Trafford.
