Heart of Lions forward Mustapha Yakubu has acknowledged that the team is struggling to compete in the Ghana Premier League this season.

The team from Kpando over the weekend laboured to beat Bechem United 2-1 to end a three-game losing streak.

The win was only the team’s third of the season, leaving them sitting in the 12^th position after matchday nine.

Looking ahead to their week 10 fixture against Hearts of Oak, Heart of Lions forward Mustapha Yakubu said it’s going to be difficult.

He argues that the Kpando-based side has not been good this season and needs to beat the Phobians to turn things around.

“It’s going to be a tough game but a nice game. As you can see, we are getting ready for the game on Sunday. We have been struggling this season, but we are hoping to turn things around. We won our last game, so we are hoping that will give us motivation. We need the points more than they do,” Mustapha Yakubu told GFA Media.

The Ghana Premier League week 10 fixture between Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions will be played on Sunday, November 8, and is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at the University of Ghana Stadium.
