Black Maidens coach Joe Nana Adarkwa says Ghana will assess their campaign and build on the positives after their exit from the U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Ghana’s run ended on Sunday after a 1-0 quarter-final defeat to Japan in Rabat, with Nanami Kurita scoring the decisive goal after the break.
The Black Maidens struggled to create opportunities in the first half, recording only one attempt on goal as Japan dominated possession and territory without scoring.
Kurita eventually found the breakthrough, and although the Black Maidens responded with greater urgency, they could not find a way past the Japanese defence.
The result sends Japan into the semi-finals and leaves Ghana to reflect on another quarter-final exit from the tournament.
Adarkwa congratulated Japan for their performance and said his team would review what went well and identify areas that need improvement before their next assignment.
“In the end, I have to congratulate the Japanese; they did well.
“Going forward, we are going to sit back and see what happens; we will build on the positives and learn from the things we did wrong.”
