Ghana have been drawn alongside hosts and defending champions Senegal, Mozambique and Uganda in Group A of the 2026 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.
The draw took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2026, at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, and has given Ghana a demanding route through the group stage.
Senegal will provide Ghana’s opening opponents and represent the toughest possible test in the section. They are the most successful team in the history of the competition, having won the title seven times, and will host the tournament as reigning champions.
Ghana, known as the Black Sharks, secured their place at the finals by defeating arch-rivals Nigeria 10-7 on aggregate in qualifying. The two sides drew 3-3 in Nigeria before Ghana completed the tie with a 7-4 victory in Keta.
Their qualification gives Ghana the opportunity to compete against the leading beach soccer teams in Africa. After facing Senegal, they will meet Mozambique, who have established themselves as one of the continent’s fastest-rising nations in the sport.
Uganda will be Ghana’s final opponents in the group stage.
The 2026 tournament will be staged in Senegal, combining the roles of host nation and defending champions. The top two teams in each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
The winners of the semi-finals will progress to the final and secure qualification for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Ghana last appeared at the competition in 2024. The Black Sharks will now seek to make a strong return to the continental tournament when they begin their campaign against Senegal.
