Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola says his side faces a difficult test against Chelsea in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at Anfield on Wednesday, October 28.
The Reds head into the tie after an improvement in form, winning four games across all competitions, including a 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Iraola’s side will face a Chelsea team without striker João Pedro, who is sidelined with a thigh injury sustained in the build-up to the Blues’ 2-0 Premier League defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool will be hoping to maintain their recent momentum and secure a place in the quarter-finals, but Iraola expects a stern challenge from their London opponents.
“I would love to win tomorrow and have the chance to get further in the competition but I know that we have to play very well, we have to beat a very good team.”
“It’s also a team that doesn’t play in Europe, so for sure for them this competition is also very important. So, it’s not going to be easy” Iraola said.
