The Ghana Football Association wishes to announce the qualified teams for the 2026/27 Women's FA Cup, marking the official start of the road to the final of Ghana's premier knockout competition for women's football.
The Women's FA Cup remains one of the GFA's key competitions for the development and promotion of women's football, providing a platform for clubs from the Women's Premier League, Women's Division One League and Regional Women's Leagues to compete for honours on the national stage.
This season's edition has seen a massive entry from across the country, underlining the growing interest and competitiveness of women's football in Ghana. Teams have been grouped into the traditional Southern and Northern Zones to ensure regional balance and to reduce travel during the early stages of the competition.
In the Southern Zone, clubs from the Eastern, Central, Volta, Greater Accra and Western Regions will battle for a place in the national round, while the Northern Zone comprises clubs from the Upper East, Brong Ahafo, Upper West, Northern and Ashanti Regions.
The competition will begin with zonal qualifiers, where clubs will compete within their zones to progress to the Round of 32. At that stage, the competition transitions into a nationwide knockout format, culminating in the final to determine the champions of the 2026/27 season.
The Women's FA Cup also serves as a crucial talent identification avenue for national team coaches and a major opportunity for lower-tier clubs to test themselves against top-flight opposition.
The GFA will in due course announce the fixtures, venues and dates for the preliminary and Round of 32 matches.
