Filip Misolic earned his quarterfinal berth after a grueling three-hour and one-minute encounter against Spain’s Izan Almazan Valiente, ranked 409th in the world, taking the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. The opening set featured an intense break-point battle with 23 break chances shared between the two competitors before the Spanish player edged ahead. Misolic, a 25-year-old from Graz, regrouped in the second and third sets by raising his first-serve percentage and finding consistency. He converted his third match point to seal the victory and set up a quarterfinal clash with Italy’s Michele Ribechai, who holds an ATP ranking of 288.

Kopp Secures Win Over Home Favorite Pieri

Sandro Kopp joined his Austrian Tennis Federation (ÖTV) teammate in the quarterfinals by defeating local competitor Samuele Pieri 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. The 26-year-old Tyrolean overcame a tight opening set by dictating play in the decider, surging to a 5-1 lead in the third. Although Pieri mounted a late comeback attempt, Kopp closed out the contest on his first match point. The victory lifts Kopp back inside the top 300 of the ATP world rankings.
