Andre Ayew visits Black Challenge, donates ahead of Amputee Football World Cup

Former Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has visited Ghana’s national amputee football team, the Black Challenge, during training and made a financial donation to support their preparations for the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.

Ayew encouraged the players to represent Ghana proudly and return from the tournament with a medal, preferably the gold.

“I’m here to support and give you all the love and power that I can give you, and to wish you great luck. I hope that you guys will bring us a medal, but the gold will be better,” he said.

The amount of his donation has not been officially disclosed, although reports suggest it could be between GH¢50,000 and GH¢100,000.

The 2026 Amputee Football World Cup will take place from November 13 to 22 in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico, with 24 national teams competing for the title.

Ghana have been drawn in Group D alongside Angola, Colombia and Iraq as they prepare for the global tournament.
