Mowbray’s men have lost back-to-back games in the Championship after Andri Gudjohnsen saw a late header ruled out against the Potters.
Despite those results, the head coach has seen positives to build on and believes his side will win plenty more games if they can maintain the performance levels.
“Let’s look forward to Saturday now,” Mowbray told The Lancashire Telegraph. “That's obviously a big game on its own, regardless of West Ham coming to town.
“We're just going to give it our best and as I've said to them, we've got to try and bring the best version of ourselves. If they're too good for us on the day, then we'll see.
“It's almost a hit for nothing for us, and yet we've got to keep points jigging along. We've got to keep going. We have to find the answer to winning games and making sure we're always in the game.
“In tight games, you can score from a set player, you can get a penalty, you can have a referee rule a goal out for them. So let's keep going.
“I think the team's fine. We almost gave ourselves this hope two or three weeks ago, what can we achieve this year? But I've said to them, forget about - what are we, 14 games in - let's just play every game.
“Let's try and keep the level and the standard as high as it's been generally, apart from last Saturday (at Swansea). “I think if we play at that level, we can win plenty of games.”
Even with the disallowed goal, Iceland international Gudjohnsen is into double figures after a prolific start to the campaign.
“Centre forwards, that’s what they are isn’t it? You look at Erling Haaland, he doesn’t touch the ball. He has seven touches and scores three goals,” said Mowbray.
“It's modern-day football sometimes, they've got to play between the sticks. They've got to know where the goal threat is coming from.
“I think we've all eulogised enough about him over the recent weeks. He's a good player, never mind the goals. He gives a lot of effort and tries to hold the ball up for the team, and he's been a big plus for us.”
