In Jurgen Klopp's streamlined 24-man squad—a significant trim from the 44 players summoned for his dugout debut as 'Die Mannschaft' boss in September—the headline inclusion is the recall handed to Niclas Fullkrug.

The Werder Bremen target man has been rewarded for a sensational purple patch, having racked up nine goals in eight league matches.

That prolific return has fired Fullkrug straight to the summit of the Bundesliga scoring charts this term. The forward made his international debut in 2022, but had not featured for Germany since 2025.

At 33, the seasoned marksman has accounted for more than half of Bremen's 17 league goals so far this campaign.

His exploits have lifted the Weserstadion outfit to fifth place on 15 points, hot on the heels of joint pace-setters Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, who lead the top flight on 18 points.

Klopp has also sprung an eye-catching surprise by handing a first senior call-up to 17-year-old prodigy Wael Mohya. A product of Germany's youth ranks, the gifted attacking midfielder currently plies his trade for a Borussia Monchengladbach side languishing at the foot of the table.

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich provide the backbone of the squad with seven call-ups, spearheaded by Joshua Kimmich, who stands as the group's most experienced international on 116 caps.

Addressing the media, Klopp insisted he is "really looking forward" to their upcoming assignments in the UEFA Nations League, the tournament where he took the Germany reins two months ago.

"After September's 44-man squad, trimming this group down was difficult because—and this is genuinely the good news—there were more players who deserved to be here," Klopp remarked.

"The higher the quality at your disposal, the tougher the decisions become," the manager explained. Germany travel to Belgrade to take on Serbia on Friday 13 November, before entertaining Xavier Hernandez's Netherlands in Berlin on Monday 16 November.

Klopp's charges currently sit third place in Nations League Group A2 on five points, having registered one victory, two draws, and one defeat.

They trail the Netherlands by three points, with the Dutch locked on eight points alongside Greece. Serbia, yet to claim their first point of the campaign, remain rooted to the bottom of the section.

Germany squad:

- Goalkeepers: Alexander Nubel (Besiktas/TUR), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Ajax/NED), and Jonas Urbig (Bayern Munich).

- Defenders: Waldemar Anton, Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), Nathaniel Brown, Jonathan Tah (Bayern Munich), Finn Jeltsch, Maximilian Mittelstadt (Stuttgart), Malick Thiaw (Newcastle/ENG), and Philipp Treu (Freiburg).

- Midfielders: Tom Bischof, Lennart Karl, Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic (Bayern Munich), Said El Mala (Cologne), Brajan Gruda (RB Leipzig), Wael Mohya (Borussia Monchengladbach), Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund), Derry Scherhant (Freiburg), and Florian Wirtz (Liverpool/ENG).

- Forwards: Younes Ebnoutalib (Eintracht Frankfurt), Niclas Fullkrug (Werder Bremen), and Kai Havertz (Arsenal/ENG).
