‘I Always Play For The Badge’: Boyhood Tottenham fan opens up after signing new contract with the WSL club

Tottenham Hotspur Women striker Cathinka Tandberg has signed a new contract with the club after starting every league game this season. Having fallen in love with Spurs during a trip to White Hart Lane in 2014, the Norwegian forward has now extended her stay in north London.

Cathinka Tandberg has always had a soft spot for Tottenham Hotspur. Back in 2014, a childhood visit to White Hart Lane turned the Oslo native into a lifelong supporter. Now the 22-year-old striker has committed her future to the Lilywhites by signing a new contract. Speaking after putting pen to paper, she said, “I love the club so I always play for the badge.”

Since arriving from Swedish side Hammarby in September 2025, the forward known as Tinka has made the number nine shirt her own. In fact, she hit three goals in her first five games, starting with a 40-yard lob at Everton. Since then, her tally has climbed to eight goals across 31 appearances. She has also started every Women’s Super League match this season.

Unsurprisingly, Tandberg believes this current squad is building something special at Hotspur Way. She added,

“It feels amazing, I have enjoyed every moment since I first came here. To build a winning team takes time, but we are on our way and I think everyone wants to be a part of it.”

Above all, the new deal gives her extra belief to push even harder on the training pitch.

Martin Ho Backs Norwegian Striker To Reach Next Level

Head coach Martin Ho was quick to praise the striker’s work rate both on and off the ball. He said:

“Cathinka brings qualities that are fundamental to what we demand from a forward. Her finishing ability, intelligent movement and link up play allow her to both create chances and finish them.”

Furthermore, Ho noted that her pressing from the front sets the tone for the whole backline.
