Matchday 9 of the Premier League kicks off with a bang as Chelsea and Manchester United are set to square off on Saturday in London.

Both sides are coming off forgettable results over the weekend, although Chelsea will find themselves in a much better spot than United heading into the weekend.

The Blues fell 2-0 at home to Tottenham in their last league outing and also saw talisman Cole Palmer red-carded in the process. Despite this, they still enter Matchday 9 in fifth place.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are reeling after a 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth, leaving them in 13th place.

While the club's front office insists otherwise, United head coach Michael Carrick is very much in sack watch territory with his team winless in eight games across all competitions.

Chelsea vs. Manchester United prediction

It's hard to see anything other than a Chelsea win or draw as the outcome here.

While the Blues looked pedestrian against Spurs last weekend, they've been world-beaters in comparison to the mess that is Manchester United at this point in time.

Look for a Chelsea bounce-back, followed by louder calls for Carrick's job.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United
