Leeds United remain interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott after missing out on him over the summer, and the Yorkshire club are confident that a deal could be struck in January, according to Football Insider.
Elliott is currently on loan at Valencia, joining the Spanish club on transfer deadline day at the start of September after it was made clear to him that he isn't part of Andoni Iraola's plans at Anfield. The 23-year-old has made six appearances for Los Che so far, failing to contribute to a goal whilst being sent off in his last outing against Villarreal, which led to him receiving a 0/10 rating from one publication.
Valencia aren't said to be impressed with their loanee, and are reportedly planning to terminate his temporary spell in Eastern Spain once the winter window opens.
Leeds are preparing to swoop for Elliott, who is understood to be keen on a permanent move to another Premier League club.
Elliott has endured a turbulent few years since Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool. The creative midfielder was a regular under the German, making 53 appearances in the celebrated manager's final season on Merseyside.
However, Arne Slot was far less fond of the Fulham academy graduate, using him sparingly in his first season as Reds boss. The Dutchman granted Elliott just 18 Premier League appearances in the 2024/25 season, before sending him out on loan to Aston Villa for the duration of the following campaign.
Elliott had a miserable time in the West Midlands, appearing just nine times under Unai Emery, who effectively froze him out for much of the season.

He returned to Liverpool in the summer acutely aware that he wasn't wanted by new manager Iraola, but he only found an escape route from Anfield at the eleventh hour of the window, joining Valencia on loan.
Leeds were heavily linked with Elliott, but the Whites weren't able to agree a deal with the Premier League giants. Daniel Farke and the recruitment team at Elland Road haven't given up hope of landing the playmaker, however.
Football Insider report that Leeds are optimistic about their prospects of signing Elliott in January. They continue to monitor his situation at Valencia, which isn't said to be harmonious.

The Englishman is out of contract at Liverpool in the summer of 2028, meaning Leeds should have leverage in negotiations this winter, particularly if Valencia actively choose to offload him prematurely.
Farke's side have enjoyed an encouraging start to the new season, although they certainly lack firepower in forward areas, scoring just nine goals in nine matches so far.
Elliott would help alleviate this issue, with his ability to create chances in the final third using his inventive passing an attribute that is sorely lacking in Leeds' current squad.
