New York's soccer excitement hasn't dwindled just because the FIFA World Cup is over—Gotham FC is entering the 2026 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Playoffs as the No. 1 overall seed and reigning NWSL Shield winners, with a quarterfinals match set against Seattle Reign FC this Sunday, November 8 at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ. And to celebrate the homegrown team, Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and City Hall are offering heavily discounted tickets to 3,000 lucky soccer fans tomorrow—and here's how you can get one for yourself.
In partnership with Gotham FC, the mayor's office has announced a limited offer of 3,000 tickets priced at $12 each—in honor of the "12th player," a.k.a. the team's passionate home crowd—which will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning Thursday, November 5 at 10am. New York soccer fans simply need to visit this link to claim their discounted tickets ahead of this weekend's game, one of the biggest matches of the season.
“This Sunday, Seattle’s reign will come to an end as Gotham FC storms the field for their quarterfinal match, and we’re giving thousands of New Yorkers the chance to cheer them on with discounted tickets,” said Mayor Mamdani. “From the World Cup to the US Open, we’re unlocking the doors of major sporting events for all New Yorkers to enjoy and reaffirming, once again, that sports belong to the people – not just those who can afford the price of admission.”

“We’re grateful to Mayor Mamdani and his administration for helping more New Yorkers experience Gotham FC playoff soccer,” said Mark Zarthar, President of Business Operations, Gotham FC. “Our fans have been a driving force behind this club’s success, and as we pursue another championship, we want more people to be part of that journey. Through this initiative, we’re making it easier for families and fans across the city to join us and be part of an unforgettable playoff atmosphere.”
The news builds on a pretty major year for both Gotham FC and Mayor Mamdani's sporting and cultural initiatives—earlier this year, the administration similarly offered $15 tickets for The Queens Classic, which saw the Gotham FC take on longtime rival the Washington Spirit and which broke the attendance record for a women’s sporting event in New York City. There's also, of course, the much-anticipated opening of Etihad Park in Queens, which will be New York City's first-ever soccer-specific stadium and will serve as Gotham FC's permanent home beginning in 2028.
But before all of that, we've got a big game to win: Snag your $12 tickets here and go cheer on the fierce players of Gotham FC as they go cleat-to-cleat with the Seattle Reign FC this Sunday, November 8, at 12:30pm at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
