Texans HC DeMeco Ryans reacts to WR Jaylin Noel's season-ending injury

The Houston Texans lost more than the game against the New York Giants before going into the bye week.

They also lost one of their wide receivers, Jaylin Noel, due to a turf toe injury. He was also serving as Houston’s kick and punt returner.

“We’ll miss Jaylin Noel’s explosive ability. He came in and he gave us a ton of big plays on offense. His return ability as well as a kick returner and punt returner, he did a lot for us offensively and special teams-wise, so we'll miss that production from him,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said. “With that being said, a lot of times you miss a guy, that's someone else's opportunity to step up and fill that void. We still have five good receivers that we like on our roster. We feel like they can still all provide some explosive plays for us. We'll miss Jaylin Noel but we know other guys have to step up.”

With Noel out, Tank Dell stepped in as the kick and punt returner. Hopefully, that is one area of their game the Texans worked on during the bye week, since they were struggling on kick and punt returns, even when Noel was the returner.

They have a chance to get back into the win column when they face the Los Angeles Chargers this coming Sunday. The Chargers are the only team in the NFL without a win. While their defense is actually decent, their offense is one of the worst in the league. Los Angeles’ greatest challenge is turning the ball over, something Houston can exploit to get their third win of the year.
