Stoke City have made it four away wins on the spin after their 2-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Tuesday evening, as one summer signing stole the show once more.
Stoke continue their ascent up the Championship table with their latest victory away to Blackburn on Tuesday night, as the Potters cement their status as real play-off contenders this year.
Mark Robins' side are flying right now despite a difficult start to the season initially, with just one defeat in their last 11 league games, as summer capture, Jack McGlynn, is receiving his flowers for his contribution to this excellent form.
Pivotal in their victory at Blackburn on Tuesday was American attacking midfielder McGlynn, whose wide free kick caught everybody to take his goal tally in the Championship this season to four, and giving Stoke the lead in the process.
A mix-up between Yuri Ribeiro and Moussa Baradji at the back in the second half gave the Potters a 2-0 lead, and though Blackburn pulled one back late on, and had an equaliser controversially disallowed for a push on Ben Wilmot, Robins' side held on for all three points once again.
The star of the show against Preston North End the weekend prior, McGlynn is quickly becoming a popular figure at Stoke amongst fans and teammates, as both Wilmot and Viktor Johansson have reacted to his recent post.
Wilmot said: "🐐🇺🇸❤️"
Johansson said: "Super 🤩"
Ethan Galbraith said: "🔥🔥"
Luke Graham said: "Scary good young man."
Certainly, McGlynn is impressing everyone around him right now, including his teammates, and those in the Potteries will be hoping that can only continue.
McGlynn, 23, joined Stoke late in the summer window from MLS side Houston Dynamo for a fee of around $5.5 million (£4 million), including add-ons, and after ten Championship appearances, the American has four goals and two assists already.
McGlynn has settled into life in North Staffordshire seamlessly, and right now appears to be attempting his own Goal of the Season competition, with his latest strike against Blackburn catching everyone, including Rovers keeper Balazs Toth, off-guard.
Only he will know if he meant it, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he did after his three other goals already this campaign.
If Stoke are to seriously challenge for the top eight in the Championship this season, you get the feeling McGlynn will be key to those efforts, as Robins will only be looking to place increased emphasis on the American moving forward.

Stoke looked like real play-off contenders in the early stages of last season before slipping away, and so far, the Potters don't show any signs of replicating that this time around.
The additions of Ethan Galbraith, Djibril Soumare, Luke Graham, and McGlynn in particular each look to be masterstrokes already, and if Stoke are to seriously challenge the top eight this year, each of those will have crucial roles to play.
Robins will continue to look to McGlynn for moments of magic after showing exactly what he is capable of already, and if something special does happen in the Potteries this year, the American will surely be at the heart of it.
