With Harry Kane set to be chosen as Tuchel’s star striker after his Ballon D’or triumph, he is also set to become the record appearance maker for The Three Lions.

He is tied with Peter Shilton on 125 caps, and with him continuing his fine form, he’s set to become the outright highest capped player.

When will England’s squad be announced?

  • The announcement of England’s squad will be this Friday, November 6.
  • The squad announcement will be released at 10am GMT.
  • Tuchel is likely to hold a press conference to explain his picks and his snubs.

Who will England be playing?

England will play their final two games of the Nations League group stage in this November international period.

Their first game will come against Croatia on Thursday, November 12 at 7.45pm GMT at Wembley Stadium, with the Three Lions looking to try and repeat the reverse fixture last month.

The final game of the Three Lions’ international break and Nations League group phase will be against world champions Spain at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Sunday, November 15 at 7.45pm GMT.

England will be looking to try and conquer the world’s best to top the group and with it keep on track their aim of a highest ever finish in the Nations League, which was third place in 2019 after beating Switzerland.

Who could be called up?

With the Premier League season well under way, a couple of new faces could be chosen this international break.

The first player who could feel like he deserves a call up is Archie Gray.

Gray has been vital in Tottenham’s revival this season, with the Lilywhites winning three games in a row and climbing up to eighth.

The 20-year-old has played in a new makeshift role for the past four games, with Spurs winning three and drawing one.

Another player who could be in for a shot for the England team is Will Lankshear, who has started the season off superbly with 15 goals in 16 games for Middlesbrough, including 13 in the league.

His clinical finishing has helped Boro go top of the Championship, with the side looking to gain promotion to the Premier League.

However, the Englishman faces stiff competition from the likes of Kane, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ivan Toney, who was called up to the World Cup squad in the summer.
