Arsenal predicted XI vs Fleetwood as Max Dowman starts and 10 key players rested

Here is our predicted Arsenal XI for the Carabao Cup fourth round trip to League Two outfit Fleetwood Town

Marli Salmon and Max Dowman

Arsenal's young guns look set to start against Fleetwood

Mikel Arteta is fully expected to make wholesale changes to Arsenal's starting XI when they travel to Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup.

The Spaniard is poised to shuffle his pack as he'll be mindful of the tough test that lies ahead this Sunday when the Gunners travel to Liverpool in the Premier League.

That fixture will obviously take priority but additionally, Arsenal will need to ensure they are professional at Highbury Stadium so they can avoid falling to a famous upset.

David Raya will be rested so the Yashin Trophy nominee will be replaced by No.2 goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who started the previous round at Ipswich Town.

In defence, Jurrien Timber could come in at right-back with Marli Salmon, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie completing the backline.

Salmon impressed at Ipswich, while Mosquera has been looking to get back into the side following his return from a hamstring strain sustained in the 1-0 victory at Aston Villa in August. Timber should be ready to play after resting against Everton.

Hincapie has had a stop-start campaign following muscle and ankle injuries but he should be ready to kick on now with Riccardo Calafiori poised to rest after suffering an issue in the final minutes against Everton.

In midfield, Martin Zubimendi should start despite taking a whack in the face against Everton. He was pictured in training, sporting a black eye and he could feature alongside Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino

Further forward, Max Dowman obviously starts on the right following his excellent brace in the last round at Portman Road. This is a chance for him to take centre-stage.

Mikel Merino could yet play as the No.10 with Eberechi Eze keeping his place on the left as he looks to stamp his authority on the starting XI following his great goal at Bayern Munich.

In attack, Viktor Gyokeres should get the nod over Kai Havertz as the Swede looks to net his first goal of the season at club level.

It means Raya, Ben White, Ezri Konsa, Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori, Declan Rice, Bruno Guimaraes, Noni Madueke, Martin Odegaard and Havertz can all be rested.

Predicted Arsenal XI vs Fleetwood: Kepa; Timber, Salmon, Mosquera, Hincapie; Zubimendi, Lewis-Skelly; Dowman, Merino, Eze; Gyokeres
