The left-back was taken off inside 20 minutes during their 4-0 defeat on Saturday, replaced by Gady Beyuku.
Fortunately, he is not set for a spell on the sidelines as it was sickness-related.
Tony Mowbray revealed that the defender had been sick ahead of kick-off but felt he could continue.
"He's just had an illness," Mowbray revealed.
"He'd vomited a few times before a game, but he did say in the warm-up he felt fine, he felt good, but then obviously he's maybe dehydrated.
"I'm not sure; he was vomiting quite violently. We made a decision: he did the warm-up, we got the club doctor here, we thought, and he said he'd be fine, let's get on with it.
"Obviously he wasn't, and the left-back we had on the bench who was coming back, Ribeiro, we'd planned he was only going to get a maximum of 20 minutes today, so with it happening so early, we had to put Beyuku right back on to left-back.
"I don't see them as major issues. I think they were a good team today, they give us problems, and yet in the second half, only by talking about basics, did it slightly improve us.
"When you play football, you've got to compete all over the pitch, and I thought they competed better than we did, particularly in the first half."
