The convincing victory extended the highly-rated Carrigan's unbeaten start to his pro career.
The former Border City Amateur Boxing Club star is tipped for big things and remains on track to fulfil his high potential at this early stage in his pro career.
Carrigan's fight against Diop was on the undercard of the Joshua Buatsi vs. Willy Hutchinson 2 event at Manchester's AO Arena.
The Cumbrian, from Todhills, added Diop's scalp to earlier wins against Dawid Przybylski, Danny Costello, Harley Hodgetts and Sean Murray.
