Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Josh Jones faces a critical assignment in Week 9 after starting left tackle Charles Cross was ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Cross' absence creates a significant hole in Seattle's offensive line, making Jones one of the team's most important players who will need to play well in the divisional matchup. With Drew Lock expected to start at quarterback, protecting the Seahawks’ fill-in starter will be paramount for Jones to deliver on.

Cross has been a fixture in Seattle's offensive line, providing consistency and stability at left tackle. His reliability has made him a key part of the Seahawks' protection schemes, and losing him represents a considerable setback. Cross has allowed two sacks, six hits and 15 pressures this season.

Jones will be needed to protect Lock's blindside and help prevent Arizona's pass rush from disrupting the offense. Jones has yet to allow a sack this season, and has also allowed a hit and three pressures on the year. Maintaining that level of protection with increased responsibility will be crucial for the Seahawks as they look to secure a win against the Cardinals.

Arizona will likely look to exploit Cross' absence and pressure Lock. Jones' performance will ultimately contribute to how successful Seattle's offense will be in Week 9.
