CRISTIANO RONALDO showed his class after handing his man of the match award to a team-mate.
The Portuguese superstar, 41, was named the standout performer following Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al-Faisaly in the Saudi Pro League.
But Ronaldo decided that fellow striker Abdullah Al-Hamdan was more deserving of the individual honour.
And footage showed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner personally presenting Al-Hamdan with the trophy before the pair posed for photos alongside a mascot.
Al-Hamdan had enjoyed an impressive evening, opening the scoring after just four minutes to give Al-Nassr an early advantage.
Ronaldo then doubled his side’s lead in the 49th minute, heading home a free-kick delivery from fellow Portuguese star Joao Felix.
But Al-Hamdan turned provider in the closing stages, setting up Brazilian winger Angelo to restore Al-Nassr’s two-goal cushion and seal the victory.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid icon Ronaldo struck the 982nd goal of his remarkable career.
CR7 is just 18 strikes short of a historic 1,000 career goals.
Ronaldo thought he had added another shortly afterwards, but his effort was ruled out for offside after being set up by Al-Hamdan.
Speaking to Saudi broadcaster Thmanyah after the game, Al-Hamdan said: “It is a great honour for me to be alongside a legend of the legends of football.”
He added that the recognition would motivate him to offer more.
The Saudi striker also praised Ronaldo’s influence on and off the pitch, saying “we learn a lot from him” and revealing how the football legend takes time to help younger players develop.
