SCHOOL SPORT NEWS - Outeniqua Primary School emerged victorious at the inaugural League Challenge squash tournament for primary schools, held in George on 31 October.
Three teams competed: Outeniqua Primary (George), Vorentoe Primary (Great Brak River), Volschenk Primary (Riversdale), and a combined team featuring players from Bramble Hill and Laerskool George-Suid (George).
Outeniqua proved too strong and claimed the title, with the combined team finishing as runner-up.
The tournament aims to promote squash development and give young players more opportunities to compete. Although the event started on a small scale, organisers hope to attract more schools in future and establish it as a regular fixture on the primary school squash calendar.
Panarottis generously sponsored the event, treating every player to a voucher and providing an additional voucher for the winning team.
